Maine!

Doug is on the coast of Maine, near Rockford, making his way north to Bar Harbor. He has 1.5 days left of his trip across the country. Camping prices are much higher in the East than out West. We often camped for free in the West. An expensive night was $8.00. The past two nights the private RV campgrounds wanted $47 and $41 for a tent site. Last night he shared a space with a couple on a tandem and tonight he told the owner he had a very small tent and he would be gone by 7 a.m. He settled for $20. At least they had a pool. He reports the roads are very hilly with lots of traffic. He plans to ride to Ellsworth, tomorrow. His brother, Kenny wants to ride into Bar Harbor with him on Wednesday. We're very proud of him, and glad he gets to spend time with his family at the end.
